I have been reading about link exchange techniques. Now reading different articles and all that stuff I found out that Google only accepts relevant links BUT after researching about it a bit more I found that people are still exchanging links regardless of relevance. Any one can explain what is this.

People are doing it because it's working for them. As far as I understand, google cannot really differentiate between the content totally, even if there's one keyword of the same thing in there, chances are it's relevant.

Second, if you have a lot lot of links, regardless whether they're totally relevant or not, you'll still get higher page ranking.

But link exchanges hardly give any benefit nowadays since google doesn't value two-way links much. one-way links are much valued because that's less likely to be a link exchange. You get a very little SEO benefit by two-way link exchanges, and some traffic benefit if the other site has good traffic.

Overall, it's better to be at least somewhat relevant and have one-way links.

Hmm, but google puts a lot of emphasis on content, so after reading your comments I think we should use one way text links.

Hello all

Link back from the relavant websites is the key for page rank, more the back links you get more the PR of your website would be. Its just like polling system, if more and more relavant websites poll for your contents (website) search engines (google etc) would give you more importance.

There are so many articles out there that one can easily confuse him self. My thumb of rule is get links from websites with good PR.

back linking factors worth was dropped by Google in last update in March and again Google is hunting to penalized the paid linking, artificial linking and link pools and indian market the top most market on main target.
